Allen Phillips

Dr. Allen Phillips (BHSc Acupuncture, Adv Dip Acu, AACMA Member) is an experienced AHPRA-registered acupuncturist, known for his thoughtful, thorough approach to complex cases — from chronic pain and fertility to hormonal health and cosmetic acupuncture.

Allen holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture from Endeavour College of Natural Health and completed an intensive clinical internship at the Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medicine University in China. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Acupuncture and Chinese Remedial Massage, and is a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).

His clinical style weaves together acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, gua sha, tui na (Chinese remedial massage), moxibustion, and Chinese dietary therapy, adapting ancient principles to modern healthcare.

Allen has a special interest in:

  • Pain relief, including chronic and acute musculoskeletal pain (with a particular focus on shoulder and neck pain)

  • Hormonal balancing and support through the fertility journey, pregnancy, and postpartum

  • Cosmetic acupuncture and dermatological conditions, drawing on global training and modern facial techniques

His advanced studies include time with global leaders in the field — including Mary Elizabeth Wakefield and Dr. Travall Croom (USA), Vivian Tam (Australia), and extensive training in Master Tung and Dr. Richard Tan’s Balance Method, world-renowned approaches to pain and internal medicine.

Prior to relocating to the Lockyer Valley, Allen was the principal acupuncturist and clinic director at Ki Acupuncture in Canberra and Youthful Dragon in Brisbane. His down-to-earth nature and clinical expertise have earned him long-standing patients, many of whom still travel to see him regularly.

Allen’s treatment philosophy is rooted in the traditional Eastern worldview — that the body, like nature, thrives in harmony and has the ability to heal when given the right conditions. He believes deeply in the importance of personalised care and works closely with each client to develop integrative, effective, and achievable plans.

Today, Allen co-directs Lockyer Valley Allied Health with his osteopath wife. Together they aim to offer deeply connected, hands-on care for real people — with time, warmth, and wisdom at the heart of their practice.

Katerina Annels

Katerina Annels (M.Ost, IBCLC) is an osteopath with nearly two decades of experience and a clinical focus on pelvic health, paediatrics, postpartum care, and complex, chronic presentations such as MCAS, POTS, and fatigue syndromes. Her style is gentle and indirect, grounded in respect for the body’s innate wisdom and the deep belief that healing happens when we feel heard, held, and understood.

Katerina completed her 5-year osteopathic master's degree in New South Wales and was then mentored at Australia's leading osteopathic clinic in Canberra, working alongside Maxwell Fraval. Her early career was shaped by this experience and a strong foundation in indirect, functional, and cranial osteopathy. She has since practiced in Brisbane, Southern NSW, the Sunshine Coast, and across rural Australia, where she developed a strong reputation for working with complex and sensitive cases.

One of Katerina’s deepest passions is supporting mothers and babies — from preconception through birth and the often-forgotten months (and years) that follow. She has provided care at multiple births and has advanced training in postpartum recovery, lactation consulting, and the treatment of babies with feeding dysfunction, tension patterns, and birth trauma. Her work is informed both by clinical experience and her own journey as a mother navigating early parenting through the COVID lockdowns.

Katerina’s treatments often include breathing techniques that support both structural and emotional recovery — from regulating the vagus nerve to enhancing pelvic stability or calming sensory overload. She sees education and embodiment as central to health, and she encourages all clients to take an active role in their healing.

She also draws on her training as a yoga instructor in India, integrating movement, mindfulness, and breath into her work when appropriate — especially for those navigating trauma, pelvic dysfunction, or fatigue syndromes.

Today, Katerina co-directs Lockyer Valley Allied Health alongside her acupuncturist husband. Together they offer a warm, integrative space for people seeking true care, especially those who may have felt dismissed, misunderstood, or complex in other systems.
